I do my own hair color on a regular basis for a couple of reasons. One, I do not have the organization or time to keep up a hair-maintenance routine at a salon. Two, salons are too expensive! I also do not like permanently dying my hair, so I have always used semi-permanent rinses, which usually last approximately a month. I suppose this varies based on your type of hair and how well it holds onto color.
The one that I have been most impressed with has been L’Oreal Healthy Look Creme Gloss Color. The two main reasons I like this product are that it contains no ammonia and you can apply it to dry hair. In the past I have used treatments that had to be applied to damp hair. To me that was an annoying additional step. Creme Gloss does not have a strong odor, which is also a huge plus. Creme Gloss is easily applied with the plastic gloves that are included in the box. Let the color set for ten minutes, then rinse and apply the conditioning treatment. Its as easy as that! Make sure to read the directions as you would with any product. Healthy Look comes in 21 shades, so have fun!
