It’s magical, a status symbol. Over a hundred years, the most solid reputation in the business. It’s classic, refined and you just know when you open the box that its something special – an heirloom of unsurpassed quality. You know in an instant – your are loved.
My heart pulls me toward items of simple, classic, understated luxury. It was my heart that brought me to Tiffany & Co. at the Natick Collection for a special unveiling of its Mother’s Day collection for bloggers. From the day the invitation arrived in my inbox, I was giddy at the anticipation of having an entire Tiffany store open to me after hours for a private showing. And the event lived up to the anticipation – and then some!
Champagne at Tiffany’s
My new Editor-in-Chief, Athena Ortiz (everyone say, “hiiiiiiii Athena!“) and I were ushered into the store with a handful of other talented bloggers where we were welcomed, received flutes of Champagne and encouraged to view and try on anything and everything in the store.
Athena and I hit the diamonds first. It’s like we were drawn to them. Knowledgeable Tiffany & Co. associate Beth Smith pulled out this dazzling Tiffany Metro five-row diamond bangle for me and Etoile five-row pavĂ© diamond band ring for Athena to try on. We were hooked.
The thing you notice about Tiffany & Co. – it’s the brilliant spark of the diamonds – more brilliant and magnetic than any other jewelry store. You find yourself doing calculations in your head – figuring how you can beg, borrow and steal in order to leave the store with one of these sparkly little pets. It’s a good thing that the day before was my anniversary and that I could not justify another piece of jewelry after the precious bauble that I had received the day before.
If I had a spare buck or two, I would have left with this simple Tiffany Metro diamond heart pendant or maybe this Tiffany Twist bow pendant. Who am I kidding? I want it all!
But you know who really deserves a little blue box? Mom.
She gives so much and asks for so little. She put up with my bratty moments and made Christmas magical. Imagine the look in her eyes when she spies a little blue box just for her.
I think I’m going back to Tiffany’s and pick her up a little sumptin’ sumptin’. She definitely deserves it.
PS – If you’re in the Natick, MA area, stop by Tiffany & Co. at the Natick Collection. Ask for Hope. She’s super down-to-earth and make you feel like you’re at home in that store and will make you laugh til you pee! Move over Sarah Silverman – I think you’ve got competition!
Disclosure: Tiffany & Co. filled our Champagne glasses, fed us hors d’oeuvres (and little robin’s egg blue iced cookies) and sent us home with our own little blue boxes. But we would have sung their praises anyway!
