Great Boston Finds
I did a little shopping yesterday. You see, I had to drive my good friend and fellow contributor Janet to Mass General for a Dr appointment, so I decided to add a little bit of fun and make it an excursion.
9:52 am First stop: IKEA.
I can’t believe the Stoughton, MA IKEA has been open for four years and it took me this long to make my first visit. And visit we did. Four hours later we were driving our of the parking lot and heading to Boston.
What did I get?
- A Hemnes Shoe Cabinet – A bargain at $99 and my husband is going to love that it keeps all the shoes off the mudroom floor!
- The Spontan Magnet Board – Perfect place for pictures and notes. Makes a handy whiteboard, too.
- A fancy lookin’ rug, some frames, a hanging photo display and lots more!

When we got into Boston we headed down Charles Street to my favorite Boston chocolate store, Beacon Hill Chocolates (that’s right up there next to Cardullos in Harvard Square) to pick up Christmas Gifts for fellow chocolate lovers (and maybe one or two for myself). My picks?
- The Salty Dog Chocolate bar by B.T. McElgrath
- Mo’s Dark Chocolate Bacon Bar from Vosges Haut Chocolat
If you find yourself in Beacon Hill, do yourself a favor and stop in for a hand-picked truffle or gelato. They are great people there.
Our last stop of the day was Charles Street Liquors. We had a nice chat with the owner and learned about some great ports and other rare finds. I found myself in awe of the beer selection. Never have I seen such a wide range of choices. I will probably be back before Christmas. Lots of beer-lovers on my Christmas list.
